This could be git related or not. So, what's on your workbench at the moment?

I have 4 scarf joint necks in different stages of work.

A 25" scale pine 5 string neck for a Banjo-Res, A 25" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Strat-Res build, A 24 & 1/2" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Double Cut Tele build and a 27" scale 6 string Baritone Conversion neck for a Modern Strat body I have.

nice look with the paint. looking forward to seeing this one when fished.

Me too.

A lot of delicate work removing the back and all the braces. What's your plan?

Good plan.

hi Richard, I hope you don't mind me making an observation and a constructive comment, but to me that top looks like it may end up over braced, going by your plan.

The main cross braces are normally the load bearing braces, and the diagonal braces "tone bars" behind the bridge plate are to control the top vibrations, and are carved to enhance the response of the top.

Just keep in mind that there is not much free area of the top to vibrate freely. And possibly the extra brace is not needed as a strengthener in this area. My thought would be to maybe leave the main cross braces un-scalloped if you are looking at increasing the strength of the top.

You have a double X brace [a la Gibson] system there, but with two extra braces. Possibly your guitar has a large body and needs that bracing.

The photo shows one of my twelve string guitars top bracing.

Cheers Taff

Lots and lots of things that have to find a home in the garage before I can even see the top of my work space. : ) I tend to use this area a catch all. What will be happening is three guitars planned. A remake of my Rusty Rat Box. Because I destroyed the original. Lessons learned. Two others are designed off of an old Danelectro guitar.

So what's on my workbench? A Workbench!! Finally going to make me a real workbench. Put the sawhorses and beat up plywood away.

Hi Paul, looks like I owe you an apology, this is only my second visit to the thread "What's on your workbench?". The other day I had a look in and noticed that people were posting stuff about all sorts of instruments and projects. And I only went back two/three pages.

The reason I did not look in sooner is that what is what's normally on my bench/'s is not CBG related, its either repairs or new full size guitar builds. I've had some interesting projects on the bench in recent times, so can I play catch up and post a couple of them anyway?

So, first a current build '000' size guitar that's ready for spraying next week.

Cheers Taff

I wanted people to show all sorts of things here as a way to give others some pointers or inspiration for whatever they need to do. Post away with whatever you have Taffy.

My shop has become a catch all too. Been doing stuff inside for awhile, but the misses is putting a stop to that. ;)

I got a 5 year old riding mower from a widow in the neighborhood. Her husband couldn't get it running and it has set in the same spot for a couple years. She got herself a new one and was trowing this one out.

Since I'm disabled and using a self-propelled push mower is torture, I will be trying to bring this mower back to life. I'll write on it and post pics as I go.

Nice.
