This could be git related or not. So, what's on your workbench at the moment?

I have 4 scarf joint necks in different stages of work.

A 25" scale pine 5 string neck for a Banjo-Res, A 25" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Strat-Res build, A 24 & 1/2" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Double Cut Tele build and a 27" scale 6 string Baritone Conversion neck for a Modern Strat body I have.

1 coffee tree + nutcracker coffee cups = power tools for Christmas ;-)

Still have to wait for the adhesive to dry before cutting off excess felt on bottom, but basically awaiting the arrival of the cups tomorrow.

At just under 150 nutcrackers, my wife is still on the hunt, and of course, Christmas or whenever during the year, she's commissioned me to make a couple life size ones...arghhh, gotta love her!

That turned out nice Richard.

Lookin Good. The cups came out nice.

Working on the Resogourd

I have to say, and I'm betting others will agree, need more pics Randy. That looks awesome.

you won the bet Paul, yes, more pics, real nice build going there

Nice work Randy.

Well I had an unexpected guitar problem to deal with.

My Gas Can Guitar had a nut made of Corian. I got it out to play a bit and was getting a weird after tone from the highest string if I strummed it hard. After looking it over, I determined the problem to be from the nut, and it was. The highest string was a bit too loose in the slot and the string break angle wasn't right. Also, the string next to it was cutting deeper into the Corian.

I replaced the Corian nut with a 5/16" steel threaded bolt that I had. problem solved.

Corian is a difficult material to work with. It can crack or break easily. And now it seems that it doesn't hold up well to prolonged use. I have another git with a Corian nut and another git with a Corian bridge. I may be working on those in the nearby future.

No more Corian for me, lesson learned.

Build #10 is on my workbench. Another 23", 3-string with a cbgitty "Electric Delta" 3-pole pick-up, the Mercury Dime inlaid bridge and black tuners with white keys. Hope to have it ready by Sunday if all goes well. Which means I'm probably looking at Wednesday or Thursday.

Sounds like a great build Steve, post a pic when you get it done.

Nearly finished a Sweet Tin 3 string. Neck and Fretboard in Clamps overnight. Will probably finish tomorrow.
