This could be git related or not. So, what's on your workbench at the moment?

I have 4 scarf joint necks in different stages of work.

A 25" scale pine 5 string neck for a Banjo-Res, A 25" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Strat-Res build, A 24 & 1/2" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Double Cut Tele build and a 27" scale 6 string Baritone Conversion neck for a Modern Strat body I have.

Nice lookin canjo. 3 string neck is lookin good too!

I agree.

finished!! well it plays....  Neck is Pine from Bunnings 41mm x 19 mm.

25 1/2 " scale only plain string i had left was a "G" so its tuned to "G" . As you can see from the bottom i made 2 mistakes. first was the screw holding the neck in the bottom i drilled too low... then to compound the fault i also then drilled the string hole too low as well. It was touching the neck... Frets are 7/64 x 50mm Split Pins Champion brand. why the weird imperial/Metric combo ? no idea thats Australia for you....we do tyres that way too... width in mm and rim size in inches...

might have to pop the string off and give me a bit of strumming room but it plays ok as is so i might just leave it as a first attempt.

Looks great, hope you never "tyre" of making gits. Haha

Just finished my Kenny Rogers Tribute-4 stringer, and a 1 & 2 string canjo, that's 4 under my belt, next, another 3 string.

Build #2

Glad you took a gamble on that one. ;)

Next project 4 or 5 string(haven't decided) Banjourine

plus a 3 string for my stepson(x-mas pres.) and I want a 3 string for myself, and more canjo's...busy busy busy

That's looking good so far Richard.

and...totally unrelated, reclaimed wood picture frames

I actually used some reclaimed picture frame wood(Pine) for a neck to go on my Banjo-Res build.

Got 2 - 2" x 10" x 6' Pine boards last year(waterbed frame) to make some nice Pine Tele bodies.

Pallets can be found all over the place. Some of the wood is good, some not, but at free pickings you can accumulate enough pieces to build something.

reclaimed neck from one of those kids guitars that they sell in K-Mart. whole thing cost me $25. got the pickup, volume pot and jack from it as well as the bridge.  original tuners were horrendous! cheap plastic heads to the tuners and they wobbled in the holder. thing played but couldnt be tuned.  pics of new tuners just arrived today from Ebay  and fitted..  going to be interesting picking strings as it is a 500mm scale length about 19.7 inches. looking for a nice wooden box for the body .

You would have to use heavy gauge strings if using regular guitar strings for that.

You could look for 3/4 scale strings at Kids R Us (First Act brand).
