just looking to see if maybe there are enough of us here in indiana with the cbg bug to have a get together or perhaps put something together? lets see just how many of us there are and maybe we can cause some blues chaos here in the home state!

I'm in Cincinnati too. I always thought it would be cool to do a CBG event at the Bill Monroe Park at Bean Blossom. I've gone to several blues fests there. It's in the middle of scenic Brown County and draws people from both Indianapolis and Cincinnati, and Louisville too I'm guessing.
The Bill Monroe park is famous for music events but it also has developed as a festival park that needs to be filled for a fest. I think it would be neat to have 3000 + for a CBG gathering but I just don't think we have that kind of numbers. Just down the road (4 mile) is Nashville Indiana and the Brown county State Park. It even more beautiful than the Bean and they could accommodate large or small gatherings.
i never thought about that but brown county would be awesome for something like that bc the park and also little nashville they always have people out on the street playing guitar and singing. so maybe thats a good place as any i think. any other thoughts on a good time or how to get the word out there? sounds like there is a good interest, that makes me happy!
Hmmmm.....too bad some guys could not get together and play at the Crawfordsville Strawberry Festival one year. It is too late for this year, it is in the next couple of weekends....but next year or the year after....that would be sweet....ther are normally two stages there, one big and one small...even a one man band or some cbg dudes jammin' out on the small stage would draw a crowd......

Also, down here in C'ville, I forgot all about this, they have the sugar creek camp ground, and it is a good sized stage and lawn.....as far as I know they still have some concerts there....I used to live a mile or so from there and you could hear them in the summer time jammin' out.....This area is more central I think.....most people know of C'ville for Wabash College....and Danville, IL is just a stones throw away from here.

Howdy! I currently reside in West Lafayette, IN. Its neat to see so many other Indiana CBG members.
I'd come, and I'd drag along any and all of my Chicago brethren of the strings!

Hi Diane,

I live near Chicago in Chesterton, IN. I am a CBG newbie. I currently play blues harp and uke. Are there any groups that I might be able to join in Chicago? Thanks.

Maybe we could just gather at a festival that is already established. Sort of like crashing a party. I didn't mean it to sound so harsh but it's a good idea. There is a Blues festival the weekend of August 26 at the Bill Monroe Music Park in Brown County Indiana. I have been to this festival eight years straight and it has always gotten better very time I go. Many of the forum buddies from the sponsor, Bushman Music Works makers of Bushman Harmonicas and Ukuleles, have become very sociable. This group has open its door to several music minded instruments. This year we have the fourth annual 'spoons seminar', the first year of the 'amp and gear' get together, a general 'show and tell' of music related things, and jamming throughout the whole fest. A few of us have already introduced CBGs to the fest jamming.
Hi, I've been lurking around this site for a while now & I finally joined. I'm in Indianapolis. I don't have a CBG yet, but I'm working on that. I have a resonator guitar that I'm absolutely in love with and I'm learning to play slide on it. I just love the sound. My dad told me about CBG and that they had a similar sound. Found this website and have been listening and learning ever since. I would love to hear a CBG live!
I'm down. I think I could probably make it to your area.

I was just thinking about this group last weekend. My wife and I visited Das Essenhause in Middleberry, Indiana. It is an Amish country style Inn and Conference center that would accomidate our gathering with comfort and room to jam. It would be great for winter time. Its right off of 80/90 so maybe Diane and the Chicago group would jump in this gathering.

On a side note., I have a number of friends from another forum of another blues instrument. Many of them have begun their cbg builds. Its definatly growing in popularity.

I think Essenhuase for the winter and my wife's campground for the summer.

Lets keep the ideas rolling as someday the talk might develop into the walk.

i'm a builder and blues lover in covington, in.  can't drive so all i do is build.  i game for a good fest
