Lid

I have seen some build where you can't see how the lid was secured to the box. No noticeable screws, doubtful its glued for lack of future access. What are options to fasten lid without exposure?

most likely it is glued Brent,possibly bottom or no access,also depending on how the strings are anchored,tension may be holding it down

I glue mine only on the corners, easy enough to slice open with utility knife.

I have used hide glue when chasing buzzes and rattles. It will soften with some heat from a heat gun or hair dryer.

Good comments
Got creative and tried gluing support blocks under the lid corners, then when I close the lid I use drywall screws on the bottom of the box to draw lid tight and secure.
Out of sight and very strong
