Comment by turtlehead on October 28, 2013 at 10:52am: Yep Joseph, I'm in open G. Just tried it on my 3 stringer tuned DGB and it sounded pretty good. I use the D G and B strings from a set of medium or light acoustic strings. The 4 string tuning is GDGB, so it's just a matter of eliminating the low G for a 3 stringer.

This is indeed a Jerry song Uncle John. Co-written with his long time lyricist Robert Hunter. I think there are a bunch of Dead songs that would be great on the cbg.

Vinyl - I need to get a copy of American Beauty on vinyl. They weren't known for their studio albums, but that one is a classic.
