Pandora (and similar on line radio stations) Choose your style of music for the station

Pandora internet radio is just as free as CBN - no worries - no catches.    They want you to buy mp3s of songs you like.  But you don't have to.

Choose pretty much ANY genre or artist you like and hear similar music - learn new of new artists and songs.   Click thumbs up and keep it on the play list.  Click thumbs down and you will not hear that song again.

My current stations are classic blues, Delta Blues, Big Joe Williams, Ledbelly, Jug bands, Dan Reeder and Todd Snider.  If I want, I can mix them together.  I hear so many new to me songs and artists.

Yep, I have several stations - bluegrass, Townes Van Zandt, Prine, Sturgill Simpson, Isbell, the Dead...

Also, J. Robinson turned me on to WDVX a few months ago  http://www.wdvx.com/ -Americana/Country/Bluegrass that has turned me on to tons of new music.

Between those two and youtube, I haven't listened to regular radio or XM much the past couple years.  Probably should cancel that XM subscription...

I do make it a point to buy albums when I really like what I hear.  All this streaming stuff is great for the listener, but not so much for the artists who are making fractions of pennies per listen.  I go see shows when I can and buy t-shirts too, I figure that money is going pretty much straight to the musicians.

My omly Pandora station is ELO (Electric Light Orchestra) for anyone who doesn't know, but it is a great service.

I personally have discovered WKZE out of NY/CT Their tag is musical diversity. Great stuff. Blues, Bluegrass, country (old country), Folk, Salsa, New Orleans Jazz, etc. Every DJ plays something different. Give it a listen on a saturday. WKZE.com

Other than that I have an Ipod with 16gb of my music. It has about 5 days worth of music, and I have a diverse setlist. Classical, rock, blues, metal, you name it.....
