The latest thing to emerge from the Digly Kennel. A BHK-56 box with an oak neck and an Artec rails humbucker. First time I've managed to do fingerboard dots - Yay ! It's not solid like my last Cohiba but the lid is 7/16 MDF, so it's solid-ish. I'll do a sound test when I've had some coffee.

To me this is still the holy grail of CBGs..if you ask me its perfection in every way..and sounds great...

The bridge has a unique double resonance sound that can't be matched. (almost like a sitar)

4mm at the 12 fret action is about spot on to how I play too.. Truely awesome build

and the MDF box works a treat.

If you decide to open the box, another useful modification would be to fit long shaft CTS pots, just file the holes out so that they fit.  I didn't know they existed when I built it so the pots are quite nasty.

I may be about to start work on its sister ship soon; a similar device but with gold fittings.

Well it works a treat its great right to the very top

Might try that tuning app..I just use my ears ..you notice that with this process with certain

tunings you get more resonance...some of the classic guitar builders said guitar wood can be tuned..

and I recon CBG;s may be the same I have been using some where near to aea on this and its sweet!

or dgd on my reprtile (I think)

When I worked with Be she said I had recorded in Bflat 9dim or something...so using your ears can give you fun tunings that maybe the material of the CBG responds more to!

Maybe I should just trace them all off yours to get it right!

P.S the chopstick is cool as it acts a bit like a sitar bridge but without the buzz...its a great sound..I ahvent been inside yet but plan one daty to change the cap to a PIO cap...

Err........ I used a very advanced and specialised technique called 'trial and error'.  Don't try it if you haven't been trained properly, it can result in dreadful consequences.

Basically, if it's a 24.5in scale, I measured 24.5in from the nut and put the bridge there. Then I put it at a slight angle. Then I messed about until I got the 12th fret sounding good. That was it.  I now use my phone app DaTuner Lite to get the intonation more accurate at the 12th fret.

How did you get the bridge intonation so spot on
And wok out the position and angle?
