Comment by Where's Uranus? on May 27, 2014 at 1:11pm: Have a look at that economy bridge, it's not as sharp as the Gibson bridges, so it might work, reason I mention is it's surface mount, so you don't need to drill post holes. The only bending I do on mine with this bridge is pushing the strings between bridge and tailpiece for he vibrato effect, but it works OK.

Comment by Shawn on May 27, 2014 at 10:53am: I have installed the Hofner type tremolo on two different builds and the roller Gibson bridge works the best. No matter how polished and lubed I kept the reg Gibson bridge sooner or later with tremolo use snap goes the high E string. The Hofner tremolo is way cheaper then a Bigsby tremolo as well.
