So, I got a couple or 3 necks pretty cheap, 24 3/4" scale. The biggest issue with using them is finding a box big enough so that the bridge isn't sitting, either off the top or, perilously close to the edge. I've got an Arturo Fuente that's about 13" long and the bridge is about 2" from the end/edge of the top--I can use it, but it's about 1 3/4" deep, not optimal for my preferred construction.

So, the question is: What's the largest cigar box you've seen? I scoured ebay and only saw a couple boxes longer than 11".

Thanks in advance, Brad

I thought of that, but these are set in type necks--so they sort of have to be set in the box to look halfway decent. I'd have to measure the neck exactly when i get home, but there is a good 4-5" of it that should be "set in". And I'd like it to play well without amplification, so that moves the bridge away from the edge. I have an Arturo Fuente King that should be okay, but it's so thin I'll need another to stack on top of it to get the proportions to look decent.

I have used Camacho boxes with a 26.5"scale, works great.

15.5 x 9 x 3.5

Yeah, that'd be perfect, if I could find one.
How about Scotch bottle boxes?

Go Big or Go Home Haus!!!!

I have always said  go with what you have .And do your best at any thing you do!

11 inches is more than big enough, I've made a 34 inch bass guitar using a Biscuit tin that measured 11.5.

your 24.75 scale necks will fit on there very nicely, I've just finished using a 7 inch Tin to make a guitar with a 24.75 scale length (granted it had 24 frets). you'll be fine with the 11 inch box, trust me
