Songwriting For The 3-String Cigar Box Guitar
How do you write songs on the 3-string CBG? It's my opinion that songs are more than just throwing a bunch of licks together. You need a strategy to help give it some direction and make it sound like a real song. In this 27:31 min. instructional video I give you some ideas that will put you on the road to songwriting. Concepts include: "The Balancing Act" "Telling A Story" and more. This lesson is sold as a digital download of the WMV lesson and PDF figures.

Don't kick yourself! The "Figures" are diagrams of the fret board. Figure 1 shows where the 1, 4 and 5 chords are, Figure 2 shows the major scale, and Figure 3 shows the blues scale. I use these as we talk about chord progressions and develop some licks.
As you will see, I'm big on graphics. With my students here at home I work on the writing board a lot. Anything to help make it clear!
