What Teisco made guitar models/years have the cool gold foil pickup Ry Cooder prefers in them? Just fell in love with the tone of these pickups on YouTube. I am more interested in getting a pickup than a whole guitar. If I bought a guitar then I would want to keep it stock.
I know Mojo and Lollar make new versions of these gold foil pickups which also sound good. I also like the sound of the Teisco ET 200 guitars.

teisco put gold foils on many different types of guitars , some were added for shits and giggles . on odd models when ever they felt like it.
it is said that codder likes the smaller fatter ones (with the screw poles closer to the side ) usually found on a teisco ss4l . some say they sound better that the thinner longer ones (lol usually people selling them say that ) in my opinion the slim jims sound just as sweet . not to mention regular vintage teisco pickups all have great tone due to their age and less wraps .
here's my ss4l where i replaced a cooder pup with a slim jim in the front , so you can tell the difference .
but be warned these pickups sell for about 100 bucks each on ebay . buying a whole guitar may work out better price wise , if you can get a cheap one for aorond100 with 2 goild foils .
but dont try and get an ss4l .. lol it will cost you a small fortune . ;-)
