Get them to stay together? It's really difficult to drill . And I'm not a welder. Any thoughts or ideas appreciated.

a series of clips that you could crimp closed, over the edges...???? just thinking out loud

It's cool ...all the suggestions have been good. I'm also thinking how to level out the whole neck to get strings to sit lower...crazy science experiment ...at this point. First though gotta get my bowl issue tackled. I had just some scrap wood and these parts ...haven't thought it out much...
Ok I got 2 holes ...on either side. do I go for 4? Gonna need tiny nuts and bolt assembly...but it's possible. Hammer/nail/drill slowly ...here's photo..put wire temporarily to hold for measuring..a bit weary to put more holes as it weakens the bowl and top...on the other hand just 2 might make it bend once strings in. As it is the bowl sits really high up and therefore the strings ...gonna at least try to get the bowl ready for now

I use a hardened steel nail punch with a form shaped pine block on the under side to punch a hole in the stainless steel bowls.  I enlarge the hole by pushing on the punch and rocking it around in a circle and it rolls the steel in, than file the sharp rolled edge off with a small round file used on the same side as the sharp edge.  Each hole can be finished a about 2 minutes.  I found dog and cat bowls at the 99 cent only store for 99 cents each and just finished a cat bowl resonator ukulele this week.

Thanks Will and everyone else here,
That's basically what I did minus the getting the holes bigger at this time(too dark). I would like to know what screw bolt one might use as that part seems a bit questionable. Once I get the hole big enough for a screw or small bolt..?.the area is fairly small and now that I've achieved the holes almost, I don't want to mess up. Also , this is a first time using metal bowl with a stove top thingy.. instead of a can. The entire resonate chamber sort of speak sits high on the plank of wood. Any suggestions as to how to bring down string action in this case? It's a cool looking and produces a sound. Ive disassembled the bowl from plank of wood for now as the wood i have is just a scrap piece. Pretty sure it will a slide type as I'm no good at fret work etc. once again thanks to all. I was thinking about cutting the plank where the bowl sits but it will still be pretty high up
If it were me, I'd do a neck-thru using the existing side hole on the stove top piece. Slide it through, and attach it to the opposite side of the bowl with a coupla screws in the end. You could attach a metal plate there as well as a tailpiece to hold your string ball ends.
Thanks Ron...that sounds like a great idea!
Ron ,I think you saying you'd put the neck just up to the inside of bowl and drill through the side of the bowl into to tailpiece and wood? So not all the way through neck but the neck up against the back of the bowl ? I've already drilled a screw hole in the bottom of my bowl already but I can cover that up. Thanks Jon
Hmmm. Here's what I meant, I think: there is a center hole in the stove topper, and a side hole. Slide the neck all the way through that side hole, until it butts up against the other side of the stove topper bowl. Then drill a coupla holes through the outside of the stove topper bowl into the end of the neck, and attach with screws. However, before you do that, you can take a metal plate with 3 or 4 holes drilled along the top edge to hold your strings, and another two holes lower down, that match the location of the ones you drilled into the bowl. Then run the screws through those two holes in that metal plate, the bowl, and into the wood end of the neck. You'll also have to create a heel on the neck to fill that side hole and give the neck support there. What this means in this design is that the stove topper could be either the bottom of the git, or, as you currently have it, the top. The hole in the middle would then be the soundhole.

Can you picture that?
Ron,
I can picture that ! I've never made a heel (makes sense) but will give it a try. I appreciate the help!!!
Can't figure out even how a heel would go on this contraption..
Actually , I'm not able to figure this out yet.... The metal stove top is flimsy and the bowl to hard ...at least at this point. Something I'm not getting. My original idea sits way high but so far can't get my head around anything else...
