Yeah - threw my own idea of a similar sort of thing together some years ago for about a fifth of the price. The glass I use is a pefectly flat vehicle window made from toughened glass. For the base I used two pieces of kitchen counter-tops firmly glued together, and the same for the fence too. The bolt holes are slightly offset so that the fence can be turned around to present fresh areas of glass-paper to the work-piece.
