This summer the ABC television series Extreme Makeover Home Edition built a house in 7 days for my neighbor. It will air this Sunday on ABC at 7 central. My neighbor was a Dallas Swat team captain who was shot in the neck while serving a warrant and who is wheel chair bound after going thru 1 year of hospital and rehab. There house was picked after being nominated by Dallas swat team. There were thousands of people that worked on the house. It looked liked the circus came to town right in my front yard. We had cart blanche, being that we were a neighbor and we got to meet all the stars and worked with them. My favorite star was Ed the english guy. I worked with him building the little boys special room. I also got to meet country western star Trace Atkins. I posted a picture of him, my wife, and myself. Anyway it is a heartfelt story and hope you can watch. You might see my old bearded mug in the crowd. Steve (Roots)

Pretty cool. Nice to know some shows on Tv are for real. My wife watches this series all the time.
Thanks Steve for posting . Love the show and what they do , it's great . I'll watch for you -Like Trace Atkins too he seems to be a straight up kind of guy . Would love to be able to help in one of those make overs or better yet have them come make over my place and build me a super wood working shop with all new craftman tools hehe (wake me up I'm dreaming again ) It's hard to belive that they can do what they do in seven days .
