Rod Piezo hums, buzzes when plugged in

   I used a rod piezo for the first time on my most recent build. I like the reproduced sound of the strings,  BUT ...

  I get a persistent buzz when it is plugged into an amp. It sounds like it is not grounded. I am not very experienced with electronics. Does it need another ground wire to the neck ? This also the first one I've made that was not a stick- through model.

   Could it be that the screws holding the hinge onto the box are too close to the bridge or may even be touching the Rod inside? Is it because the piezo might not be sealed in wax completely?  Is it merely the jumble of wires that is causing the feedback ?

   I am confident that somebody here at the Nation will know exactly how to make it well again. Just tell me what to do, and I'll fix it.

A piezo rod works by having string pressure on it, thats why it`s used under a saddle in a bridge on top of the lid. It doesn`t work like a disc type of piezo which works from vibration like when mounted underneath the lid.Rod piezo bridge with bone saddle

I did track down the cause. I think whenever a buzz like I had happens, it is usually in the wiring, and sure enough, there was a bad connection. When I replaced the part - success.
