Hello, I wanna make guitar what deafs and hearing impaired can also enjoy.
Deafs can feel vibrations. Hearing impaired depends on how much is hearing
loss or they have ear implant .
Seome hearing impaired persons can hear loud or very loud sounds.
I know someone who as implant in one ear and with second ear she listens something from headphone. A nother girl I know has implants in both ears. I don't know how much she can enoy music. I have read that listening music with implants is hard. Newer implants makes music more enjoyable.
Thanks to the electricity things are more easyer.
I was thinking something like a lowebow and diddleybow..
One idea is to make 1 or 2 string bass guitar.
Second idea is to make something like a lowebow.
1 bass string and 3 lowest guitar strings.
Third idea is to make bass what I can play like a guitar
or someting between bass and guitar.
If I can buy lowebow and it's not to expensive for me
I can make something more original. My problem is that I live in estonia.
First I need to make pickups.
I have some magnets.

I would say getting nice fat ass strings might help
say some real nice uprigt flat wounds or some thing but you may get some millage out of say 100lb fishing line maybe or some fat strimmer cable if you going getto
I would try two parralle as for placment, get funky with it and see what you can cook up I would imagin the acustic chamber may potetialy have more baring on the sound but I never made one
I sure thought about it though I would love to see what you cook up !
I have no idea right now how to make that big magnet thing to pickup.
I wanna make electric instrument.
Making one or two string bass guitar diddley bow is easy.
Maybe I can use Higer bass strings or something like this for low sound guitar.
Upright strings seems to heavy.
I think I need truss rod and I can make it from threaded rod.
One problem Is its hard to get right wood for finger board.
Check out my pickup making workshop: http://cigarboxguitars.com/resources/workshops/pickup-workshop
If those are your choice of magnets, I would suggest using the bar magnets (rectangular shaped ones).
A Lowebowe doesn't have a truss rod. It's two oak dowel rods tied together with hose clamp. I think the dowels are at least 1 inch diameter.
If you go with nylon strings (fishing line etc.), you have to use a piezo pickup, instead of a magnetic pickup.
Have you looked at baritone guitars - they have a scale length longer than a guitar, but shorter than a bass - about 30".
I'm not sure what your resources are like in Estonia?
I think baritone scale is good for my idea.
I think I make baritone scale 4 string cigar box guitar.
I don't like nylon strings. Nylon sounds bad for me.
One more thought. I've made a truss rod before like you're suggesting. With that style of truss rod, you have to route a curved channel in the guitar neck, which can be difficult.
If you don't have the skills/tools to do this, I suggest using a laminated hardwood neck. That simply means gluing two boards together for more strength. Make sure the grain is opposite on the boards so they don't cup or warp in the same direction.
Any difference making pickup for lower sound. ?
This video gave me a idea www.cigarboxnation.com/video/cigar-box-bass
I can make baritone scale guitar with 1 - 2 string bass and 3-4 string guitar on one neck.
If my low souding guitar project needs special amp.
The main difference between a bass and guitar pickup is the wider pole pieces to allow for the wider bass string spacing.
Since you're trying to emphasize the lower frequencies for your friends who are hearing impaired, I suggest using a bass amp.
