Hi,
help me out here. I need some inspiration to expand myself with my "Tin junkitar".
I've burned down the few blues riffs I can come up with.
I like a lot this song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-nSPVZuKwI (Ain't no easy way by Black Rebel Motorcycle club).

So I guess I've an appetite towards "raunchy country-bluessy-souly-rock". Actually I have no idea what I really want. I just know I need to listen to more stuff.

I feel like when I was 12 and discovered punk and Heavy Metal.

Thanks

If you find this interesting, please check out my instructional video CD 1 that is available for sale at www.ebay.com by searching: Keni Lee
Feel free to write to me if you have any questions. Enjoy your tin junktar, Keni Lee
Try Watermelon Slim...and with his band....Watermelon Slim and The Workers, and Ian Seigal...just a couple of my personal contemporary favorites
I like the selection of older blues available here:

http://prewarblues.org/
Personally I would check out all of the old blues guys first. Robert Johnson, Mississippi Fred Mcdowell, and so on. If your looking for old guys still around check into Dave Hole, Sonny Landreth and Derek Trucks. These guys are all slide masters.
Oh I forgot to mention Keni Lee is a slide master too :)
Thanks to all of you,
According to Murphy's Law, today my soundcard had to stop working, so I can't listen to any of these on youtube right now. But as soon as I get home...

@Keni, I did watch some of your videos a while ago while getting ideas to build my junkitar. Pretty cool stuff. I'll check them again now that I have the instrument.

Old school, contemporary, blues, bluegrass, experimental... etc..
Keep them coming.
Can't go wrong with Blind Willie Johnson.
I can't believe no one has mentioned Hounddog Taylor yet ...

One name for you........Hollowbelly.........love his stuff, he is by far the one that got me started into wanted to sing and play music at the same time in this sort of music. Once you dive into the new stuff, you will find yourself swiming around in the older stuff. You know what they say...."The blues are the roots, the rest are the fruits."
Anyone knows about an online radio like Pandora?
They blocked non US users a while ago, and I can't think of a better place to find all this music.

Any Ideas?
come on over and check the music player at WCBN you will find music from many of the people who make music here at the nation. when you find a sound you like you can click on the name in the added by column and link right to that persons page to check out other songs they have on their player.

happy listening.

cheers
