I don't want to reinvent the wheel. Little help!

Hi guys, I am an absolute glutton for punishment. I am doing my own boxes now and at first I thought I was going to use a nice 3mm thick plywood for tops and back and continue doing neck through method but that leaves me with floating bridges and I want some glued on bridges and am thinking about either a mortise and tenon or bolt on with a neck block.  I am wondering if any of you would care to elaborate on your method of neck attachmeent and specifically things that you found that did and did not work regarding neck attachment.

I have abandoned the plywood and am resawing  wood and jointing and planing it to thickness for the tops and backs. This is  taking some time as I tend to want to do batches of whatever it is that I'm doing at the moment and I currently have 31 plates ready for use as tops or backs.

My plan right now is a tight fit of the neck into the neckblock, glued and 2 screws. I want to make some nylon stringed instruments and I really love classical bridges with tie blocks and can't really pull that off with a neck through.

Any thoughts on a trouble free neck joint?

Bolt ins are more future proof cos you can just shim em if things move a little..
If its a nice tight slot I reckon they work great..

hi charlotte, some good ideas on neck attachment can be found here:

haven't done a neck thru for ages - much prefer bolted or screwed in these days.
