Well, here we are in week two or three. I'm not really sure which. And I'm realizing just how many different factors are included in Blues. See, with some music you simply pick it up and play. As long as you hit every note and your timing is good you got it. There really isn't any feeling or thought involved. But with Blues it's something you feel to your toes. Everyone who has been a great in Blues history has had a horrible past. Has lived through depressions, loss, heartache. I mean I have lived through some pretty crappy stuff too but I got over it and moved on. With Blues it's kinda like taking a horrible life event (right when it happens) and taking it out of your soul and putting it in song. Then it's like once they've done that they only hurt when they sing the song. So I have got to find a way to express the same feeling or at least some feeling when I do the song. Oh and then I realized that Blues reflects ALL feelings. Hmmmm...To take an audience on an emotional trip if done right could really have an impact. So my next quest is to figure out how to do so smoothly. I'll explain that in another post. But for now I'm trying to learn how people feel and how to express, impress and deliver on songs as complicated as the Blues. I'm sure it will boil down to a 5 or 10 point system. I'll keep everyone posted on that. Other than that I'm still preparing for my first performance in front of anyone on my cbg. Oh and my first cbg videos. Always something to do :) Peace and Groovy Gigs.

Already reworked the words a little, changed the rhythm to fit a repeated musical phrase I tinkered with last night:

Hungry Blues

Ain't got no feelin's when you're in my shoes
Ain't got no dealin's with your short fuse
Ain't nothin' lost, you got nothin' to lose
Feed my hunger, got the Hungry Blues

Call me Old Stoneface, never shed a tear
Say I gotta stone heart, feels once a year
But my growlin' stomach needs its daily dues
Mornin' to evenin's got the Hungry Blues

Got no emotions round here
Don't allow no grief, no fear
You see my Hunger Game is clear:
I'm only here for a steak and a beer

People all around me always weep and moan
All the pretty wimmen try to take me home
Well, they cain't touch me 'til they hear the news
Only way to catch me, feed my Hungry Blues

Got no emotions round here
Don't allow no grief, no fear
You see my Hunger Game is clear:
I'm only here for a steak and a beer

Don't need your mercy, dontcha criticize
For all my sins, I won't apologize
My only passion, just the way I cruise:
No slave to fashion with my Hungry Blues

No hijack issues here. It's all good. Inspiration. We all find it in different places :)

E, you're welcome and EartLvr, sorry to hijack your thread. When the muse strikes, I gotta listen. Wrote that in about 20 minutes after reading Eric's post. Inspiration is all around you! Gonna try setting it to music myself tomorrow, and play it out next week. Be interesting to compare versions.

Ron, that's fantastic.  I might have to try and put that to music.  I think I can fit that into something I was working on this morning.  :)

Ain't no feelin' when you're in my shoes
Got no dealin's with sad abuse
Nothin's lost, you got nothin' to lose
Feed my hunger, got the Hungry Blues
