Hi Sam, This is a gas can ukulele i own. It works great and sounds something like a steel drum and a ukulele. I've got lots of photos of it and a drawing i made many years ago from a gas can banjo found in Flora Ohio. I lived in SE Ohio for many years and taught at Ohio University in Athens. As you can see, the can is held firm by a frame built around it. The bridge goes over the neck (a true bridge) and presses on the can. Good luck on your build and let me know if you want to see more.
