I was thinking I might do TWO retainers on the next build --- one at the headstock and another behind the bridge...

As is, the string looks like it hits the bridge saddle at nearly the same height as the nut...not much downward tension and less solid vibration transfer...maybe do the opposite with that and make it a 'string retainer' instead --- just a thought. and I know what you mean about the addictiveness...I've got several designed just waiting to be built.
