Hey Harold -
Glad you liked the Turbo Zouki! It is a Trixordo bazouki, as played by old school (pre 1940's) bazouki players. I believe it was delivered to McCabes in CGC tuning, don't know how it was tuned when you played it. Anyway, it has a neck made from white fir which was formerly employed as a tank stave in a fermentation vat in a winery in New York state dating to about 1920. There is still a hint of purple stain left on one side of the headstock. I veneered the headstock in black walnut and engraved it to achieve a look similar to the engraving featured on many bouzouki pick guards. The tuner keys are steamer trunk keys from the early 1900's. One lipstick single coil pickup to get a bit different sound than the resophonic sound to make it a bit more versatile. Was a fun study. Cheers!
