Violin pickup?

Just seen these on Ebay and wondering if anyone has used anything like it. Think it would look nicer than some guitar preamp setups I've seen as its just got a volume and tone pot instead if those EQ looking setups I've seen. Also the size of the pickup is spot on for going under a 3 or 4 string bridge. Not a bad price either :-) See More

Don Goguen replied to Dave Hughes's discussion Jason Lollar article, well worth a read if your making pickups in the group CBG wiring & electronics.
"The key to how much you want to pot your pickup all comes down too how loud you want to play and what you want it to sound like. I also find that the more microphonic the pickup is, the worse it sounds with heavy distortion. I have a couple of…"

Hi Dave - you asked about the pen - yes I have a cream coloured one I use for walnut necks and a black one for the maple. It is an easy way to make it look as though you have inlaid something. Seems fairlyt long- lasting - I got them from a craft shop - not cheap - about £3.50 each but you get a lot of dots for that!

Hi there Dave.

So, another player/builder from the East Midlands. Great. I'm currently living near a town called Newark.

Welcome to the site and to the Brits. I try and play in public when I can, but shifts and other musical interests play havoc with playing.

Look forward to news of your progress.
