Here is a sneaky peek on how it's going. I went to the dump and found an old Brigg's & Stratton lawn mower exhaust end that really needed to go on a guitar.

Hey Bob, now worries, that's  great you got the Briggs & Stratton guitar parts...... Ha Ha !!!  I'm  more than happy to share the Love !!!!   maybe you should flick B & S a photo, they might be interested in diversifying their stock lines so as to combat any down turn in a slump market. :o)

I'm keen to see your next build. :)

Hey Mick! I bought a muffler deflector like yours. Also found another cool old lawn mower part to incorporate into my next build. Thanks again for the inspiration!

I'm with you on not liking cutting into a pretty plate, Mick.   When I've done it, it has been a rougher cut than I desired.   Maddog makes a lot of LPGs and he cuts them with a dreml tool.   This is gonna be  cool build and we are interested now!  Love that muffler part!

You are right about the plate having the flat open area for the saddles John. The thought of doing any cutting or extra drilling put me off from using the plate for the front, I also wanted to recess the neck into the body by two frets to bring the bridge back a little to balance it up. There is quite a good weight distribution now.  The muffler end will make a nice palm rest as well as being a string retainer for the bridge.      Thank you all for taking an interest in my little project, this is my first scratch build.  :-o)

Wow! That is one beautiful body. Love the routed hole for the exhaust thingy.

I get it, Mick.  Easy and cool way to do the back.  But if you have a different plate that looks about as good maybe use that one and save this one for a top.    This one has such perfect  places for a saddle and pickup.

I thought that too, but the licence plate will go on the back of the body as a cover, all the rout's at the back look like an open cut mine. Partly to make it lighter and to give it some resonate sound channels as well. I also added a spring in the body for added sustain...... well that was the idea.  :)   Thanks for your feedback Uncle John, much appreciated. :)

Man, this is looking so good as it is.  Might be better to save the license plate for the next build.
