Albert, piezos are extremely sensitive to any sounds/vibrations and when you put the pickup near an amp speaker, you will get some feedback. Some suggestions are:
- Move farther away from the amp
- Turn the amp down (can't happen if you are in a performance)
- Mount the piezo in a spot where it cannot be affected my external sound as much.
The last one is the best. I mount mine under the lid nearest to the bridge. I put about a dime sized glob of hot glue, wait about a minute (and a half sometimes) and press the piezo into the glue until there is about a 1/16" gap of glue. Others mount the piezo directly inside the bridge -- assuming you make some sort of bridge like on an acoustic guitar.
These methods will help tremendously.

The rules are laid out rather loosely to say the least. And are open to broad interpretation. I understand your position in that the rules say "in" the body of the guitar. But in the spirit of this contest and CBG's in general I think it was meant that the actual body of the guitar should be a CB. I think what you designed and built is one slick piece of work. I Admire it.
Between you and me, and im not taking sides, I dont think your design in its current configuration will be excepted for this contest. I have a suggestion though. This is rather far fetched too. Do you think you have the time and ability to wrap the outside of the cookie tin in a cigar box? Hear me out...Locate a few identical boxes and carefully tear em apart. For the top glue a couple lids together and cut it round and "overlay" it. same for the sides and back, just wrap them around the tin etc etc. then it would, in my opinion, look like a CB Body, albiet it a round body that is not actually produced but in keeping with the rules of the contest it would infact be a cigar box body. Just my thoughts. Id hate to see you go through all the trouble building it for the contest and defending your position that it qualifies under the rules just cause you may have misinterpreted the rules. Beat em at thier own game.
Incase your wondering. Im in no way conected with this contest, other than a fellow participant. Although I havent even started mine and seriously doubt Ill finish one in time cause I was late to the game. I just dont want you to think I might be speaking for anyone else other than for myself.
Good Luck Albert and keep on building!
looks like you're having fun with that loop pedal - i've got a digitech jamman myself.. unfortunately it does not work any more, hopefully i'll be replacing it soon....
keep up the work!!!
