Well she more or less finished :) I did end up flipping the lid over, and I have used signwriters clear vinyl over the lid as a scratch plate and to hold the edges of the paper together.

Did a bit of work on the neck today.

Cut the headstock relief, temp fitted the machine heads,

cut the nut slot (Im using 1/4" round brass).

Drilled and cut Stainless rivets for the string fixing end.

Ive got a few days wait for the frets, I figure it will be easier to fret with the neck still "unshaped".

Once the frets are in I'll shape the back of the… Continue

Started work on guitar today,

cut out the releif for the neck in the box and the lid cutout into the neck.

The black stuff is tape to help stop the paper and wood splitting out the back when filing..

Camera was cutting out , low batteries, so took a couple of pics quickely.......

Tried peeling the cancer sticker off, with some sucess, but its a bit touch and go.

But when I… Continue

This one from the USA.

and this one from West Australia.

Shame about the cancer sticker, I'll see what I can do to get it off.

I'll be using the Macanudo box for my first guitar....

I like the Sancho box too much to wreak it.

I have a neck blank I made from some kiln dried Australian hardwood,

I will be starting work tomorrow :D

A happy day today… Continue

Hello,
I have started a CBN group entitled, "How to Play CBG" It is my hope and intention to encourage the "Wealth of Talent" here on the Nation to share their knowledge and skill to further the CBG movement. Please consider contributing an instructional "video" link to this group. If you are a viewer seeking instruction, please feel free to write. If you have any suggestions or know other players who you think may want to post instructional "video" links, please contact me. Thank you for your interest and support, Keni Lee

I cut the lid off, carefully remove a strip of trimming, (comes off easier than the sticker)flip the whole thing over, glue the trimming down and nail the bugger back on. In some cases, there is better art on the inside of the lid.

Eucalyptus oil does the trick nicely. Sometimes its best to do your own sticker over the ugly cancer blah sticker...seen some pretty funny ones actually.

I'm told a hair-dryer will help the stickers to peel off -- washing and fingernailing just don't work.

Actually, i have a reasonable amount of Cedar suitably thicknessed, that i have used for other folk instruments that i have made. I could easily make appropriately sized "cigar boxes".

Would that be classed as "Cheating"? I think I would miss the authenticity!
