For slide playing you just need a magslide.

I have a 12 string CBG but the neck is the same size as a 6 string neck because the fretboard has a really sharp radius in it like a portuguese guitar.

Neat idea of using the strat neck for 8 strings....and I love the sound of double course strung instruments...lots to think about here.

Sweet sound!!! I have been thinking about doing paired strings for awhile and you're video has me thinking about it again. Have fun with your well built instrument.

Well done. Love the idea, and you executed it very well.

WOWZA! That idea just floored me. Why have I not seen this before? Great build. Super electronics. Really nice and FULL sound. You played well, but I agree with Keni Lee on recomending open G (DGBD). I have played my 4 strings DGBE and open G and find open G more fun. Of course you can go back and forth between the 2 tunings easily enough. Wow... I have an old strat type head and I am tempted to try 2 doubled strings instead of 4. Probably double on the 4th and then ? I am not sure.... Keni Lee, you are a tuning master. What 2 doubled strings?

Nice build. Definitely gives you that 12 string tone without the wide nut and also having to tune another 4 strings. LOL You should consider tuning the high string down to d and playing in open G. You might have to use a heavier gauge on the high d, if you want the correct string tension to play bottleneck. Please check out my instructional CD 5 on ebay. (www.ebay.com search: keni lee) I have found that the chord inversions work out much nicer on a 4 string in open g, than in the tuning you are now. Nice playing by the way too. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy.

I wanted a 12 string guitar until I found out how fat the necks are. I really like the slim feel of a strat type neck so opted for this 8 string build.
