Maybe, depending on the paper's porosity and the type of ink and maybe also what type of glue holds it to the box, and what type of clear-coat you are using.

the biggest concern would be the ink, if it's water soluble use an oil based clear, or if the ink is oil soluble (use a water based clear).

find a spot that will eventually be cut out or covered (sound hole, pickup cutout, bridge/tailpiece/fingerboard-overlap, inside lip of the lid) and test a mustard seed size bit of water and also mineral spirits/zippo-fluid and see which does not make the ink run.

I'd then try several ULTRA THIN coats from a rattle can of clear to try to seal the art/paper/ink as a first step.
