St. Louis MO. CBG Club/Workshop

We are organizing a CBG workshop held one Saturday a month at the 61 roadhouse & kitchen in Webster Groves MO. (St. Louis Area). This is also the home to the St. Louis CBG festival each year.

Bill Kunz of 61 has been generous in offering us a place to meet, practice, discussed ideas and what ever members decide to do with the time. Gary Herget and myself are contacts for this club and are open to ideas to make this a fun club. As soon as we have commitment from members, we can set up a Saturday each month to meet mornings. We haven't set a day or start time as of yet. We need to know who can commit at least to a start up and discuss as a group when and how we want to run this. Possibilities are great!

Reminder next Saturday club meeting December 2016. We have the guitar build contest and prize is Justin's hand me down pedal board, an awesome Boss loop pedal station. Our annual gift exchange also, small gifts.

Lyrics revised and set to Elvis Heartbreak Hotel. Will attempt a recording next meeting to submit to CBN 2016 album.

I've thought this song would go well with Heart break Hotel instrumental and sang Elvis style. If you're interested in joining this recording at the club meeting. Please respond and or let me hear your feedback as to the chorus etc.

Just listen to 'Heartbreak Hotel' and read the lyrics. Repeat 'Oh yes its Christmas' twice in the chorus. Smiling's lyrics fit.

I agree and so does Jason, I kinda felt it was weak in the chorus also. Anyway i just thought sense we have such a short window to get this, we needed something familiar to everyone thus Heartbreak Hotel. I've got a thumbs up from most everyone who wanted in on this. I'm going to attempt a recording once we can get it down as a group, it doesn't have to be perfect just fun!

Weather was bad for the meeting this weekend and most of us came down sick with an awful virus that's killing me. Anyway, only one contender showed for the guitar contest and we figured with all that's going on. we'd hold off till January to give all you a chance to recover and make it in. I didn't stay and wish everyone a nice Christmas and happy new year.

Thanks Rat, I am getting slightly better. I cut a lousy recording of this song for Steve's album just to say I at least made an attempt. I know the club would have nailed it easy.

Reminder for this new years 1st CBG club meeting. As most of you know, December's meeting had a lot of us home sick or weather cautious. So we held off on the build contest having only one contestant show (Russ). Lets bring in all our new builds and compete for the loop Boss loop pedal. I hope the weather lets everyone attend and all of you have had your soup and warm blankets. If you had gifts to bring and didn't make it DEC, go ahead and bring them anyway. Let start off 2017 right!

YES! Who need Christmas in July when we can have it in January. : ) Doing everything I can to be there. Even if I have to call in to work. they can do without me for one day.
