Hi everyone,

I've been making  four string cbgs for about a year and a half, now I've been thinking about what to do with all those e strings I have collected? Sure a Diddley Bow but I was thinking about a four string with one low e and three high e's and using some sort of a drone like tuning. Maybe a middle eastern feel. Any tuning recommendations? Share your other ideas about using up those pesky extra strings in the package.

I got a few of those sets as well. Was thinking of low and high E two stringer.

You bet!

Canjo... Fun and easy...

I did a 2 stringer with the high B and E drop-tuned to GD (1-5 tuning) and it had a very pleasant dulcimer/mandolin kind of sound.

Shane did a video for a 1-8-10 tuning to mimic a Seasick Steve setup

standard scale length: low E, high e, high e uptuned to g. E-e-g may pleasantly surprise you?

Avoid the problem in the first place - don't buy what you don't use.  We buy bulk just the gauges we use.
