Those big fat E strings - a new use?!?

Like most when you buy a package of strings the bottom 2 strings tend to get used for other things like hanging things up to dry, picture hangers, muffler holder uppers etc etc...

Well today after cutting the notches in a neck I found out I didn't have enough fret wire to complete the job. Spy'n the growing bundle of 'E" strings gave me a brain flash, one of them rare moments.  I cut the string into pieces just short of the width of the neck and used carpenters glue to glue them on.  The cut makes them sit in place while the glue dries and seems to hold them ok.  The glue in the cut and the winding on the string seems to provide plenty of surface area for the glue to hold'm good...  time will tell tho

Any other uses??

It ain't PC, but it has come to mind to make a garrote You don't need a bunch, but everyone should have at least one.

Yep...  Thats pretty 'crafty'...  Not sure my wife would be to happy if I started making rings and handing them out tho.  I'm think'n I'd be rack'n up lots of solo time.  Upside is I'd have plenty of shop time to build more cbg's

thanx Doris  they are  pretty  easy  to  make  ,  just  wire  wrapping and any  bead  / stone with a  hole  in  em  .  lotta " how to"  vids  on  y-tube  ,   bracelets too  ;-)
