Lipstick Tube Pickup Wiring

Hi,

Can anyone assist me with how to wire a lipstick tube pickup to my volume pot? I'm familiar with a two wire hookup...but this on has three: red, white and twisted wire mesh (ground?). I'm afraid electronics is not my forte!

I think the third wire will be connected to the metal shielding around the pickup. Just hook it up to the back of the pot or wherever you are grounding the circuit

Thanks very much....I'll ground the third wire and white wire to the back of the pot.
