I have 1.5" width wood sizes. im used to the 3 stringers.
The above sized wood seems to be all there is around pre-cut in the local stores. Is 1.5" width too small for a 4 string?

Wayfinder,

I'd really appreciate a pic of the eyelets anchor etc if you get a chance! .im unclear on a tailpiece/anchor for a 4 string..also how far apart are the strings from each other? I am re-reading what you wrote...

I just pop the stems out 1/4 inch long pop rivets. They look good...put one in the bottom and top of the hole

I already made a neck thru design but I imagine same principle with rivets should be ok
You glue the rivet or does string tension keep it in place...and thank you!
Excellent thank you. I'm thinking rivets on bottom and top. Not sure yet I'll have to experiment.

mine was a neck thru design so I drilled the hole a little small the kinda ran the bit in and out untill I could tap the rivets in...no glue required this way. I used a 1/4 inch long rivets in the bottom hole and the top holes so they would not touch and be too long.

p.s. just hold the rivet sleeve with a pair of pliers and then tap the stem/nail on a hard surface and it will slide out easily.

Thank you
It is wide enough. Yes.

...no not too small,  we've made many 4 strings from 1.5"  width...
