Usual treatment to a guitar fretboard is to wipe it down with tung oil, don't know why it would be any different with CBGs. Tung oil is also a great way to revive an old, dry and or dirty fret board- just wipe down when you change the strings and wipe off excess. Just make sure you never leave rags with it piled up as it can spontaneously combust, but for the amount used on a fret board it really shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure to let the stuff evaporate off your rag (preferably outside) before tossing it into the garbage. It really is good stuff and will protect your fretboard as professionally as it gets.

Ive used tongue oil on various projects for years. I keep a bucket of water and dish detergent to squeeze rinse the rags once done. Hang to dry and Ive never had a fire after disposing of them, and I live in hot azz Florida.

   I have used lemon oil and   the boiled oils should work fine right now I'm using walnut oil on all my guitars parts. I don't use clear anymore when they look dry wipe on some more walnut oil. If the dog eats my guitar he will be fine.

I use Johnson's Paste Wax. Wipe on a small amount, let dry a few seconds, buff off to make a soft shine.

I have been using mineral oil. It doesn't leave a residue.
