State Fairs

I was at our Washington State Fair in Puyallup today and was disappointed that there was no evidence of home made instruments of any kind there. All the usual commercialization and animals, rides, bad food were present. So I was wondering if anybody out there had gotten a foothold on any level in their State Fairs? One place I was thinking is there was a hobby section that included everything from oddball collections to Lego building contests. I could see building about 10 guitars and other assorted home spun musical instruments and putting them on display. Most of it was display and there were a few demonstrators like a home astronomer, a coin collector, and woodcarver were on hand.
