After trying to build tremolo effects and distortion effect for my amp I decided to do it the RTZ way.

I build my LM386 amps with volume and gain control and they work great just like Giddy kits or any ones kits, but put a good pedal in front of it and they sound awesome. So the next step is to install the pedal in the box. Any pedal will work.

The RED box is my LM386 amp the BLUE box is the distortion pedal.

Buy a cheap pedal like the Danelectro Distortion that I used here $15 . Take it apart

Take a ohm meter and find the - and + solder posts on the 1/4 output back side of board. #1 in blue.

then solder the kit amp input to these posts. if you can mount the green board so

you can use the input on it your Done. ( you may need to grind the end of the output jack to fit flush)

If like this amp you need a different input, just do the same find the - and + of the input

#2 Blue and solder the wires  to the amp input jack (the grey wire).

the blue arrow is a jumper to by-pass the battery disconnect.

The distortion works great I will post a vid soon.

Next I will put a Tremolo effect in a RTZ amp.

You will need to run two batteries.

The second pic the panel .

oh hey that's a great idea if I say so myself. which I just did.

like your thinking awsome looking idea

I shoved one in my cajon as a busking amp but it needs reverb and you have just given me a great idea...

Plus I need a mic amp too so plan to fit another amp circruit and maybe some effects...

how does a spring reverb work?

can I not make one in minature?

spring reverb are like pickups on the spring they vibrate longer then the strings kinda like REVERSE FEEDBACK the more you turn it up the more it vibrates, but they are big. the tank is as long as a twin amp. a small one may not work.

tough to build a vocal amp you could build a nice amp for harp clean with reverb (digital).

I like the idea of putting the effects right in the amp.  Makes for easy setup when playing.  I don't see why you couldn't put several effects in and get just the tone you desire.  Cool stuff.

Bug, I don't know how a spring reverb works exactly, but don't I think building one would be too difficult.  I pulled the reverb tank out of my old Crate amp and it's just over 8 inches long by 2.5" wide.  That could fit in the right box easily.

The only problem with multi effects is the jumpers from one board to the next are short.

It would be best to mount them right on the panel.

Keeping the amp small and in a cigar box is important.

Just got the amp done and tested and it rocks I even got some harmonics out of it. I'll post a vid soon.
