I figured I would start a thread to talk about where we all get our materials to build CBG's. If someone can tell me a cheap source for electronics and pickups I'll tell you how to get a set of quality tuning pegs (6 to a side) for $12 shipped. Everything else I either get direct from the Martin Guitar factory since I live around the corner from it, or the wood from lowes. Let us know!

You buy from them? Have you tried the wire harness with the pickup already installed for like 9 dollars? You can't beat that price, but if it sounds like junk, there's no point in my mind...

I haven't had to pay anything more than the bid price. I think that's standard seller stuff. I've gotten a bunch from them and haven't paid any more than bid + shipping.

Plus this is what it says:

# International Buyers Note:
1) Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer ' s responsibility.
2) Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.

#We ship to these countries only: Canada, USA, United Kingdom, Australia, New zealand, France, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Ireland, Singapore, Japan, South-Korea. If your country is not in this list, please contact us before you bid.

I assume that means non-US countries.

Wes,
I saw you eBay source for tuners is in Hong Kong and their fine print says you are responsible for customs duties (import taxes) and to contact US customs directly before bidding. What is the story on that? - Rawl

radio shack piezos # 273-073 $1.99 Take piezo out of black case it works much better. 1/4" plug jacks same place intermnal jack 2/$4.00 external pigtail female jack 2/ $4.00 they also have potentiometers for $4.00. Hope this helps now about those tuning pegs? where do I getem?
Jim,

I have and its not worth the money. I'll be the first to say when a product is bad and this one isn't any good. It does work and it is wired, but the pots are crap, the tone pot might as well not be there and the pup is feeble.

It might work for acoustics but not electrics.

Thanks man! That will get rid of my temptation to try it out and waste money.
jim I dont mean to diss u buddy i'm just saying that I find them cheaper by finding used junk guitars in good will yard sales and flea markets for under ten dollars and they have usable tuners bridges nuts string brackets etc. thereby recycling what would have gone to the dumps and doing my part. More power to ya in ur business. I wholey believe in the small business mans right to make a profit. Didnt mean to raise any hackles here. I sincerely wish u good luck and keep on pluckin.
