I had saved my strings from the 2004 CBG Fest to do something like this. Ended up losing 'em somewhere...

Hello Diane, thanks for the friend add and for sharing this cool site re jewelry made from old musical instrument strings. My sister and niece are both jewelry makers so I sent the link to them as well. I have LOTS of old instrument wire so maybe they will be inspired to create something with it...CanJoe*John
Myself and the guitar shop where I used to work have always saved the string ferrules. My thoughts are to do a 24K gold plate on them for making jewelery. This wouldn't be difficult and would be to prevent corrosion.
