You are right on Brian! It is a mystery how we can play so many different songs with only one finger chords. There is a reason they are called “power” chords.

I appreciate the high praise Uncle John! I do enjoy learning new tunes or ones I’m not real familiar with, and this is one of them. The Slingers stretch me regularly. I try to get close, but often the phrasing of some lines on songs just doesn’t come natural to me, so I go with what works for me and you end up with the Doug Thorsvik version. I also don’t do slow well!!! Hopefully, steady means predictable which means others can play along easily, that’s the goal. I did enjoy learning this song and hope it will be chosen again by the group.

I really like the instruments and play on this one. Good vocals too. I like your steady style and the way you almost always sound like Doug T. and resist trying to imitate the original artist. This one is a keeper.

Thanks for watching Ambrose! Just got back from our first Slingers meeting at the library in almost 2 years. It was awesome to play in the same physical space together: 24 songs in 90 minutes, what a blast.
