Vox Tonelab ST tube pedal with cigar box three string sound check.

Day two with the new tube pedal and I wanted to show off a bit, I mean demo it. Could probably do with more dirt? Let me know what you think.

Was the documentary on YouTube called "You see me laughing"? That's a fantastic one if you haven't seen it.

That's incredible that not only met but had a concert from Mississippi John Hurt. I've never been so jealous! Haha. Truly awesome. I'll look forward to hearing your version of Payday if you make a video of it. Really looking forward to it actually.

All the best to you and thanks again for your kind words. It really means a lot to me as far as encouragement. Practicing is all well and good but it's a very solitary experience until you get good enough to play for or with others so it's good to hear I'm going in the right direction. Difficult to gauge your own progress because it's a bit like being in a forest but only seeing trees rather than the forest. Again, I really appreciate it my friend.

Hi Bear. I had a great time this morning looking at a Burnside documentary. About a mess of his and his Mississippi characters. I play Payday also and got to meet Mississippi John Hurt in Art School back in the 60’s. He came for a concert and wanted to party after. My girlfriend invited him to our apartment and he played at the party till very late. I’ll have to try my discovered riffs to pay day. I’ll report back later.

Thanks for the kind words Maddog. I really appreciate them. Had my old dog bowl six string resonator through it earlier. Open D, sliding away and the gain cranked right up. Loved it! Thanks again and all the best with your stock of new builds.

Dave, I was wrong. I just relistened to the end of my own video and it's not "Wish I was in heaven sitting down" (though I do play that one too hence the mistake in information). It's actually "Payday" by Mississippi John Hurt. Sorry about that. Hope you find the song on YouTube. It's a great song to play.

Definitely check out RLs version. I often feel in a trance after playing CBG. I don't know what it is about it but it makes me so relaxed. Definitely therapy and great for pain relief too!

You're too kind Dave but a huge thank you for your kind words. It's very much appreciated. I've been spending the morning so far measuring and marking out for a two lots of three strings lapsteel using an old oak plank. It's about time I got back into building something new! Thanks again my friend.

Bear, i’ll Look for Burnside’s version of your tune on YouTube. Thanks for the info. I just stumbled on the riff playing in a trance state. That’s where most of my stuff comes from.

I listened again Bear. I like your play friend.

Thanks for the kind words Richard, James, Pick and Jeff. Lovely words to wake up to.

Richard, more dirt coming soon! Looking forward to rolling around in the dirt there'll be so much.

James, you're a constant encourager and gentleman. Thank you my friend.

Pick, I'd love a whole week of new toys! Where do they sell those? I'd like three please haha.

Jeff, you should get one! They're not battery operated (perhaps because tubes are so power hungry?) but I'm planning to make portable powered using a battery and a generic charger end. If you do end up getting one let me know and I'll share thoughts, info from others and links to the stuff I reckon I'll need if you'd like.

Thanks again everyone. You're all much appreciated!
