That would be useful for me in either the CGDA or the GDAE.  Kind of specialty useful, but useful.

Most tenor banjos are tuned C-G-D-A (that's how this one is tuned). It is mandolin-style tuning but a fifth lower. There are a few other tunings but that one is by far the most popular. Irish tenor banjos are normally tuned G-D-A-E which is like a mandolin only an octave lower. Most tenor banjos have 22/23 inch scales where most 5-string banjos have 26/27 inch scales. I really like the sound/feel of a tenor but I know they're not for everyone.

I am back for a 2nd look and listen.  I think that banjo would be a lot of fun for certain songs that I do a lot.  You know, I was too tough on it in my first opinion.   It's loud, but does not overpower you.  It might be dandy for my thumb style.   How is it tuned?

Thanks for tuning in Uncle. I agree... that banjo is LOUD. It's even louder when I play with a pick.

Holey chit, Chirlock.  The neighbors called and complained about banjer noise.   Screw em.  Leave the horse they rode in on alone.  Man.  Do that song again for me on a quieter instermunt.   I think you were good, but that banjer would overpower the Hulk.
