I remember Johhny Mack Brown and some of those movies.  I still like cowboy movies too. Fave is Monty Walsh with Tom Selleck.   Rocking pretty hard there, Andries!  Good.   Have you seen the movie 'The Highwaymen'?   I think you would like it.   Not exactly cowboys, 1930s Texas Rangers.
