Now that I think about it, 3 of my favorite Hendrix songs were remakes. All Along The Watchtower was a Bob Dylan song, Wild Thing was a Kinks song and Red House was a Alvin King song.

Van Halen did a lot of remake songs that were great too. You Really Got Me, Where Have All The Good Times Gone, Dancing In The Streets, Your No Good, Somebody Get Me A Doctor and Pretty Woman.

Thanks Paul. I probably know The Kinks version better. Not so sure I've ever even heard the full Hendrix version if I'm honest. I'm not cool enough to know it haha. Must rectify that amd have a listen now. Thanks for commenting and clearing it up :)

The Kinks were the original recording artists of Wild Thing, but I like Jimi's version better.

Thanks Derek. I really appreciate the encouragement. I hadn't noticed mott the hoople in the first one but I'm hoping to move towards song learning soon rather than just freestyling so much. I've got my eye on Wild Thing by His Royal Highness Jimi Hendrix (I think it's by him anyway). I've already half got to grips with the beat of the 'wild thing I think I love you' and the tune on the guitar too. I can play a bit of it is what I mean.

Okay, I think I'm learning I type too much haha. Just nice talking to all my friends and heroes! Thanks again for commenting and encouraging Derek. Much appreciated.

Sounding good Bear! First one sounded like Mott the Hoople.

Haha thanks Nancy. Funny you should say that though. I struggle to tap the beat I'm playing to with my foot, though I can move my foot but not accurately to a beat. In the past I've had to concentrate and almost count the beat to myself but recently it's almost as if I feel the tempo I'm playing to. Getting in to the groove would be a good way to describe it. Even if I do make a mistake off beat or accidentally slide to the wrong fret it's almost as if I instinctively know what to do next to cover up the error and get away with it so to speak. Into the groove and riding the wave.

Thanks for commenting and for the encouragement Nancy. Much appreciated :)

Thanks Uncle John. Practice seems to be paying off more lately as finger picking is coming together. Managed to pick up this easier version from Shane quite quickly this time. The tips for the more experienced players on the same video threw me so far but I'll keep practicing. It definitely does pay off in the end. Thanks for the encouragement. Much appreciated.
