Yup, gonna keep my eyes peeled for them Dave.  Here's a link I found with some history if anyone is interested.  Munising is a cool town in the UP home to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore which is one of the most beautiful places around.

Wes it is just right for the pinkie slide. No frets to whack makes for pure resonating.

Thanks Uncle, Jim, Wes, Dani, Bear. I'm closing in on the next banjo. Tuners half in. Varnish drying. Tailpiece and bridge and strings tomorrow. Wonder if Munising is still making bowls? Turtlehead, you might check that out. My mind is imagining this vast pile of bowl blanks and cast offs. Maybe the junk shops of Michigan are stuffed with wood bowls? :^)

I sure like that sound Dave.  As a Michigander, Munising rang a bell and what do you know, they were a Michigan company.
