Thanks Robert, I have everything I need to make a variable speed winder just have not had a reason but Seymour got me for $64 that's a good reason as its 2 times the price of the whole guitar. I do like the sound of this heavy pickup.

Pickup replication:

  • Make a bobbin the same size as the pickup you want to replicate with poles spaced for 3 string.
  • Measure resistance of pickup to be replicated.
  • Measure the resistance of 1 foot of your magnet wire.
  • Divide resistance of pup to be replicated by the resistance of your magnet wire.
  • This is how many feet of the wire you have that you will need to wind.
  • Use a wire length counter to keep track of footage of wire used while winding.
  • The result should be satisfactorily close to the original coil.

The "Oakie" brought to you by Lowes isle 32b. I need to find a way to make a pickup like this for 3 string.

The fuzztone track is my S.W. with a set of really brown martin heavy EAD acoustic strings something I tried didn't work it sounded like a bass .
