The Dream: You buy a sparkling camper and spend the summer in scorching sun in Cornwall.  You have hero status, you are mobbed by women and have to buy a stick from the camp site shop to fight them off. There's so much action that you run out of Sanatogen.

The Reality: You buy a sparkling camper and it rains solidly for 6 months. The camper sits on your drive, depreciates and rusts. It springs a leak. So do you. Local women wonder why that old bloke bought a camper and never uses it. The Mrs nags you to trade it in for something sensible.

Not quite a VW but you could sleep 3 in this one with a squeeze... I had 7 different campers over the years and I'm on my 48th car.....never lost money on a camper apart from the two I crushed and now wish I had filmed...!

my MM went from 0-60 in 6 minutes! ...and was always breaking down on dark nights, especially with a female passenger who was not a relative...funny that.. (-;

always wanted a VW Camper...shouldn't wish too hard i might eventually end up in one! (-8

Steve I have run a 23 second quarter mile in a bug up pod!
Against a bloke who walked faster!!!!
My burnout was near to pathetic....
But I'm still smiling!!!!!!
The one below is 9.33 quarter mile!
Some what quicker.....than most things
And I have nearly rolled a vw bus there not so good
On corners when you drive it like a 911

he he....i had one split-screen car i bought for 15 quid when i was 17....a Morris Minor!  ...they'd make an interesting spectacle at Santa Pod!  i went there in the 60's, amazing place (-:

I suppose if you're going to blow £35k on a vehicle, a shiny VW bus and RAC membership would be more fun than a basic 5-series diesel :-)
