A rake, short for rakehell (analogous to "hellraiser"), is a historic term applied to a man who is habituated to immoral conduct, particularly womanising. Often a rake was also prodigal who wasted his (usually inherited) fortune on gambling, wine, women and song, incurring lavish debts in the process. Comparable terms are "libertine" and "debauchee".

It's all good John I do appreciate your comment and I know I push the line sometimes on what is right for this site and I do try to keep the ball in bounds but I get bored. I like me a Zombie movie.

Thanks Nancy, the song was one of the first I did here and I thought it was worth another run.

Yup, RTZ.  I think I recognize the symbolism with the scene in the meat department and later the attack on the girl and eating her like meat....  Yeah zombie-like.   I still feel like it does not go with a great song and performance.

But I am moving on.  And glad to be able to say how I feel ~ and you being good about it.

Thanks Steve.

Well thanks John 9.7 i'll take it.

As for the vid I did notice the last few frames of the girl were nasty looking but I stoped and looked at it and its not . I didn't watch  the whole movie so I don't know how rapey these particular zombies are. They are eating her alright but not in a rapey way more like the meat in the fridge way. But I think I know what your saying thanks for the review.

I was just think how we use to watch Saturday Night Movies on T.V. in the 70's not content.

Bob Wilkens Creature Features, Fright Night Theater, Saturday Night At The Drive In,  I was in zombie mode.

Check Out Rake 2

AWESOME RTZ.............

RTZ, I am going to tell you just what I think.  Feel free to try and se me straight.

If I just listen and do not watch, this is one of the few best performances of a Townes song I have ever heard.  The audio portion is wonderful.   A 9.7 rating.

The video portion  wrecks it for me.   Am I missing something in the content?  A rake is womanizer and often uses a woman in a bad way.  A rake is a womanizer and hell raiser - not a rapist.  That last portion of the video makes me think of rapists, not rakes.

Rake awesome song name I looked it up years ago wondering. It's one of Towne's great dark songs, some think it's about Vampires I think it's what drugs and booze do . That's where the fun is until you start planting people for every reason under the sun.
