You're well on your way - I'd echo Jim's advice - free up that left hand by sitting down or using a strap, and then use your middle or index finger behind the slide to dampen the strings to get rid of some of that rattle. At the same time, embrace the rattle because it's going to happen one way or the other.

Not sure you'll find much out there on E,e tuning specifically, and since you've already got the cbg blues thing going on, I'd encourage you to work out the major scale on the low E and try to pick out some melodies Do Re Mi style. 

Fret positions for the major scale would be 0 2 4 5 7 9 11 12.  Have fun!

Thanks. I am playing as much as I can. It is fun. I changed it to a E,e tuning. now I am on the hunt for tabs for a E,e tuning.

Nice! To play better simply play more! What you're doing isn't bad at all. I can't play slide at all while also trying to support the instrument with my left hand. Put a strap of some kind on it to give you more left hand freedom.
