1,I do the Southern two step, I drink Coke, won’t touch Peps –si
I want to be a real American boy
I want to drive a big car, race it under the stars
That’s what he had as a toy
I want to play on those strings, and tell a million ten things
And make folks around laugh and smile
Like a good man I know, I’ll give it all a “good go”,
And do it in old Pinetree Joe Style

2.I want to work day to day, just to pay my own way
And go home to the lady I love
See my family and friends, all that counts in the end
And give thanks to the good Lord above
I want to be tough as nails, never know the word “fail”
But be as gentle as a summer sunrise
I want to walk proud around, every inch of my town
When that alarm says “get up, Joe, get down”

3.Now my songs nearly through, if ya don’t know ‘ bout who
I’ll tell you, its my amigo Pinetree
An old frontier style man , but there’s’ no guns in his hand
Just kindness that he gives out for free
So Joe now my friend, from here in Glasgow I send
All of the pride that I feel
To know a good man like you, and the things that you do
There’s no punchline now, this song is “for real”
